For Visitors with Disabilities - "Museum for All"
Since 2016, the State Central Museum of the Contemporary history of Russia has been developing an inclusive program “Museum for All”. The main goals are the full inclusion of people with disabilities in the socio-cultural space, the creation of a barrier-free environment and a friendly atmosphere for all visitors. When conducting excursions, the Museum's researchers take into account the different needs of visitors, adapting the route and story for children and adults of all groups of disabilities.

The entire interior space of the main exposition is adapted for comfortable movement: there are wide passages, there are no thresholds, there is a small ramp at the transition to the navigation hall.
When conducting excursions for visitors with musculoskeletal disorders, our employees select a convenient route through the permanent exposition and exhibitions of the Museum.

Visually impaired visitors
For the blind, visually impaired and deaf-blind visitors, the staff of the State Central Museum of the Contemporary history of Russia conducts adapted overview and thematic tours of the main exposition and exhibitions of the Museum. Some excursions are conducted using tactile didactic material and elements of audio commentary. Thanks to the sound design in the halls, visitors receive additional information about different periods of Russian history from the second half of the 19th century to the present. The halls of the Museum are equipped with multimedia complexes with headphones, which, taking into account the epidemiological situation, are thoroughly treated with disinfectants every hour. In addition, at the ticket office of the Museum, when purchasing a ticket, all visitors are given disposable headphone covers.
