The exhibition coincide with 120 anniversary of the beginning Russo-Japanese war 1904-1905 which is very ambiguous but a heroic page of the Russian history. There are unique posters and cartoons, postcards from France and Germany, photos and archival documents and other things from the collection of the State Central Museum of Contemporary History of Russia. All of them reflect view of contemporaries on events of Russo-Japanese war, which became one of the reasons of the beginning of the First Russian revolution 1905 – 1907.
There are posters on the exhibition, which glorify the heroism and selflessness of Russian soldiers, the power and force of Russian military complex. The photos made right on the battlefield show us achievements of Russian field medicine. It was then that for the first time were bring into use the field and base hospitals, the evacuation trains and individual first aid dressing packages. The separate complex of the posters, post-cards, documents and photos is dedicated to the one of the most famous episodes of the Russo-Japanese war the fight near CHemul'po. During this fight there were the a collision between the cruiser «Varyag» and gunboat «Koreec» from one side and Japanese squadron from the other.
There was the dinner in honor of commanding officers and other officers of the ships in one of the most famous gentlemen's clubs - the Moscow English Club (now the State Central Museum of Contemporary History of Russia). The documents, which reflect the details of this event and names of all of its participants, are on view on the exhibition as well. However not all of Russians accepted the War unanimously. There is indicative of it we can see among other things some of domestic satirical postcards, leaflets and proclamation of RSDRP, letters and citizen appeals.
The exhibits from international found of the State Central Museum of Contemporary History of Russia are especially interesting. Visitors can see satirical postcards from France and Germany, which criticize both Japanize and Russian military achievements. The letters of Japanize soldiers, which have found on the battlefield and Japanize satirical map, are small but important part of exhibition. It let us look at the War from the side of representative of Europe and Japan.
